I love using non-typical images for Birthday Cards. Really anything can be a Birthday card with the right sentiment. So I used this gorgeous Forest of Trees set from Flourishes to create something beautiful with the feeling of growth and blossoming. I really think that represents what Flourishes has done the past 2 years, and what I've been able to do having the privelage of working with them. I feel very blessed to be a part of this Design Team, and a tiny extension of this company. The card also holds great promise for the year ahead as a Birthday card too, and that's what we all want right? A year ahead to grow. That's my heart anyway - to always be growing. Artistically, Emotionally, but especially Spiritually, my heart is to grow deeper roots and blossoming branches in my walk with Christ.
Alright - what did I do with this card? I stamped the tree on watercolor paper and gave it some pretty color with reinkers...and Stampin' Write Markers too for some deeper definition. Then I sponged the deckled rectangle shape using my Nestie as a template. After the entire card was put together I added some pretty Flower Soft blossoms. It really has the best effect. I created the sentiment on my computer and cut and arranged it into a sentiment flag. I love this DSP from Basic Grey....Sultry
Alright what's the next big news? We are celebrating at Flourishes! Two years ago this month, this one of a kind stamp boutique that I love very much opened its doors to a whole new kind of creative expression. Now, we want you to help us celebrate! Today, the entire design team cooked up creations to honor Flourishes' special day. We want you to join us! Simply make a birthday creation of your own - link your card to the Flourishes Newsletter post or upload to SCS using the keyword FLLCBDAY. We'll pick one lucky winner with the prize being a stamp set of your choice! So, make time for play time and you might just be a winner! Don't forget to click onto the Flourishes Newsletter tomorrow -- there is a BIG announcement that you won't want to miss! And here's a little hint...
And THIRD what's the Something Wonderful for YOU??? Well, you can't have a Birthday without presents right? Thanks to the generosity of the Flourishes, I'm giving away THIS!!! The very Flourishes set I used today and a gorgeous Spellbinders Frameabilities. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post (ok you can comment about my card :) BUT also, what you love about Flourishes too!). ETA - I'll be drawing Sunday night (August 2 at 10 pm MTN time).
Be sure to check out all the Flourishes DT Girls for their fabulous Birthday Creations!
