The Good Life

I really love birdhouses and today at A Day for Daisies we’re showing off some lovely Bird Watching designs that will tickle your birdie feathers.  They all have a dreamy sort of quality.

As I was rifling through my papers the other day I found this lovely sheet from a 12 x 12 kit I bought from Echo Park and I just love the pretty floral pattern so that’s how this all came together.  I wanted to fill up the whole sheet with the floral, sewing it down, and then giving the design some of the colours from the sheet with Copics.

For the sentiment I took a strip from one of the sheets of designer paper in the pack and cut it into flags for hte sentiment and then accented with clear sequins and glittery enamel dots.

Here’s the Copics I used.

May’s TCP Blog Hop!

Welcome to the May Blog Hop at The Cat’s Pajamas!  All the beautiful sets, CutUps and CutAbles are now available in the store, and we thought we’d have one more go around showing off all the fun!

You should have come from the lovely Deborah’s blog on this hop.....and now here’s what I’ve got to show off...

I created a slider card with this adorable bear from I Are Fun!  I stamped the little guy on Neenah White cardstock and then coloured him up with Copics in some patriotic colours, cutting him out with a little border around him.  Then I used TCP’s Slider CutUps Die to create the channel in the card and the pull piece etc.  I love this little die!  It makes it so easy!  I decorated the card all over with the cut outs of the Stitched Clouds Die (free with $65 purchase!) or the stitched clouds.

Here’s the slider raised up to the top of the card (so cute!), and the accents I added.  The little heart along the cloud is from the new TCP Birdhouses CutUps die and I added some sparkly enamel dots to accent.

Here’s a quick close up of the bear (seriously, isn’t he just the cutest?)....and the inside of the card below.

Here’s a peek at the Copics I used too...

Hope you enjoy the rest of the hop and now you can head on over to the next stop....Wendy M!

Constellation Prize

Day 5 of Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat’s Pajamas is sure to bring a smile to your face.  I happen to think these little playing penguins and the sentiments are hysterical :)  Here’s Constellation Prize.

First off, let me just say, I LOVE the sentiment on this card....it’s so perfect for these playful little guys and the galaxy theme.  First I stamped them on Neenah White and coloured them up with some Copics (super easy as it was just the clouds and the moon).  I trimmed them out with a little border.

I made a galaxy theme scene with the background again using watercolour with Memento ink refills.  I did a similar card to this one HERE, but this time as I was perusing through my cupboard I found the perfect medium to wash in the silver shimmery colour in the scene with some old Tsukeniko Silver All-Purpose Ink.  It worked perfectly to add in that silvery shimmer after the watercolouring while still being a bit transparent.

The sentiment is embossed in silver and you can also see the shimmery stars I added using the 3 x 3 Stars CutUps cut with the ICraft Adhesive.  Because it’s a double sided adhesive, I just placed it on the card and then sprinkled it with glittery and it gave me gorgeous glittery stars!   Finished off with some silver cording.

Here’s another peek at the galaxy background and the shimmery stars.

Are you In It to Win It?  Now you can pop on over and comment on the rest of the Cat Pack’s creations with this set....every comment you leave increases your chances of winning this set!

Don’t forget about the Pajama Party Monday!

Bedhead Birthday

How about something sweet for this week’s A Day For Daisies Challenge?

The Challenge is to use 3 different patterned papers...

These images from the Oh Boy collection are so sweet!  With two boys (well...one’s almost a man), and nephews around I have lots of use for these.  I thought I’d do it up great with some fun plaids and checks....perfect for the boy theme.  And I tried to give him the look of a ginger bedhead with some sunkissed skin, carting around that cute kitty.  I love how my boys would get such brown necks over the summer from playing outside.

This is this weeks’ Deconstructing Jen Sketch, and I accented it simply with some buttons and twine and the sentiment from an older SU set.

Check out with the rest of the ADFD ladies have for you today!  And be sure to play along!

Birdhouse Condominiums

We’re back with Day Four of the fabulous sets from The Cat’s Pajamas!  Today’s set is such a sweet combination of stylized birds and birdhouses that will really spark your flights of fancy!  Introducing Take Flight.

What’s so fabulous about this set....and you’ll see it today if you hop around with The Cat Pack, is there is such a range of possibility.  The stamp set also pairs with two new CutUps dies, dies for the birds and dies for the birdhouses....so you can cut and stamp a million different ways.

I went a little color/pattern crazy creating a fun “birdhouse condominium”, stacking the birdhouses in a vertical line.  I did a combination of stamping and paper piecing to creat this one....but I’ll tell you a little secret, this card with all it’s little pieces from the dies and intricate details is made EASY with a product in the TCP store, iCraft Adhesive.  It’s seriously awesome.  All I did was cut out the birdhouses with my dies onto paper and the iCraft Adhesive and it made putting together my paper piecing/stamping puzzle really easy.  All those little pieces and insets sit perfectly.

The red stripes on the top birdhouse and the green dotted/stripes on the bottom birdhouse are stamped and the rest of the pieces are done with the dies.  I thought the owl paper in the background was a fun whimsical play on the birdhouses....gives it a bit of a folksy feel too.

So cute to welcome someone home!

Here’s a peek at the dies and the stamp set I used.  A really fun set to play with!

Now you too can win this set by hopping along to The Cat Pack playing along today and commenting!  Here’s whose playing....

and.....dont forget the party coming on Monday!

In Shape

We’re back to another fabulous set in The Cat’s Pajamas Sneaky Peek Week.  Today’s set just gives you the feel of those sweet days of summer.  And the sentiments are really fun.  Introducing In Shape!

I went really Clean and Simple for this design stamping Bun Bun onto Neenah White cardstock after I had cut out the shape with my Silhouette.  Colouring was super simple especially because I paper pieced the hammock.  Then I just used the Toppers CutUps Die to form the scalloped edges in the cardstock along the bottom of the design, and my scissor to make the curves.

The sentiment is just a little teaser for what’s inside the card accented with a Candi Dot.  I also popped up his little drink onto his belly rather than along the ground, I just thought it looked so cute like that.

And then the inside that just cracks me up.  I coloured up the ROUND part of the sentiment with Copics that would match the dp.  Too cute!

Here’s a look at the adorable set.   See what I mean about some really cute sentiments?

Now don’t forget, you can win today’s set, just by commenting on the design team’s blogs, the TCP Blog and our Facebook page!

I Are Fun

Ready for Day Two of Sneak Peeks from The Cat’s Pajamas?

I’m ready to show you another really sweet set....are you starting to see the theme that’s going on?  Today we bring you I Are Fun...

Isn’t he just the cutest?  Somedays the thought of just taking off with an armfull of balloons sounds so inviting!  I had a lot of fun colouring him up with Copics and also paper piecing some of the balloons.

I kept the layout really simple because I was using all these fun patterns in the paper.  These are from Carta Bella - It’s a Celebration.  Perfect for the balloon theme.

For accent I’ve used the Stitched Clouds CutUps die again (love it!) and then the Bitty Banners CutUps Die along the bottom, then a button and twine to finish it off.

Here’s the Copics I used above and the sweet set and new CutUps Dies below.

Want to win one of the new releases before they’re even available to purchase? Of course you do! TCP Sneaky Peek Week Begins!

What an awesome week we have in store for you with The Cat’s Pajamas!

You’ll begin to see the theme for this month’s sets and dies as we go on...but oh wow is May looking fabulous at TCP!  I had so much fun with all the goodies and I think you’ll really enjoying what’s coming your way.

We kick it all off today with my favourite bunny...and this cute set is called Drop In!

How cute is our little ballooner heading out into the skies?  I just LOVE hot air balloons!   I stamped him on Neenah White cardstock and after colouring with Copics, I trimmed him out.  Then I paired him up with these great papers from MME - Skies the Limit.  It’s always fun when you find the perfect papers in your stash.  To accent the sky theme I added these stitched clouds from a new die TCP will be releasing that’s free with any $65 purchase - they’re just SO fun and you’ll see them a lot on my projects this week.

To match the stitching on the clouds I added some stitching on the edge of the card, and then finished it all off with some baker’s twine in various matching colours on the tag.  Do you like the basket weave look to the colouring on the basket?

Here’s a quick peek at the inside of the card.  Simple, but sweet!

And now here’s a peek at this adorable set and the Stitched Clouds die that’s so fabulous...

Now you’ll want to check out the TCP Blog to see who else is showing off their Drop In creations today...

See you back here tomorrow!
